The murder of Alton Sterling by police raised some questions that are still not answered. The officers had clearly lied that Sterling had a gun. Even if he did have one, Louisiana is an open carry state. It is clear police officers are not keeping their body cameras on in order to cover-up their killings. It is rare that police departments release video footage of altercations. The reason they do not is because they know it proves their guilt. There are many white racist police officers who regularly show their hate for African American citizens and their black co-workers. The fact the Justice Department continues to protect police officers who engage in misconduct proves that African Americans cannot get protection form the US government. If this continues, there is no other option but to arm ones self against aggression.
